THE
ARREST.
On August 9, 2024, Teddy Miller flew home with his wife without telling anyone he was on his way.
After he found out that someone had been stealing from his business, he couldn't get straight answers about the projects that he had been funding himself and with investors.
HE HAD NO IDEA
WHAT WAS WAITING FOR HIM.
He had no idea the FBI were interested in him or that one of his investors had made claims against him.
Shortly after he arrived at his house, everything changed.
“IT WILL ONLY
TAKE A SECOND.”
Shortly after Teddy returned to the United States, Special Agent Aaron Lee and multiple FBI agents arrived at the residence and repeatedly pounded on the front door.
Lee asked Teddy to step outside, telling him “it will only take a second.”
The moment Teddy stepped outside, Lee grabbed his arms and forcefully placed him in handcuffs while another agent continued pointing a firearm at him.
NO EXPLANATION.
JUST ARRESTED.
Teddy repeatedly asked what was happening, why he was being detained, and whether he was even under arrest.
There had been no sit-down with Teddy before this. No emails. No questioning. No civilized communication.
Just Teddy being violently detained as if he had been on the run for years.
TEDDY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK WAS GOING ON.
THE FBI WENT INTO THE HOUSE
AND STOLE HIS PHONE.
While Teddy was in handcuffs outside, an agent entered the house without Teddy's permission and took his cell phone from inside.
The entire time, he was being told, “You can't go in there.”
THEY WENT INSIDE AND TOOK HIS PHONE ANYWAY.
THEY KNEW HIS LEG WAS INFECTED.
THEY KEPT PUSHING HIM ANYWAY.
On the way to the awaiting vehicle, Teddy repeatedly told the agents he had recently been hospitalized with a serious infection in his leg, that it had not healed, and that they needed to slow down because he was in pain.
They kept pushing and pulling him anyway.
TEDDY ASKED TO SEE THE WARRANT.
LEE REFUSED.
Inside the vehicle, Teddy continued asking whether he was under arrest. The agents laughed before Lee finally acknowledged that he was.
LEE: DIDN'T.
Teddy asked to see the arrest warrant. Lee did not produce it and ignored the request.
When executing a federal arrest warrant, the officer must inform the defendant of the warrant and the offense charged. If the officer has the warrant, it must be shown on request. If the officer does not have it, it must be shown as soon as possible on request.
THE FBI GAVE HIM
TWO OPTIONS.
After Teddy asked for a lawyer because something was clearly wrong, the agents told him he had two choices.
Not knowing what was going on but realizing something was seriously wrong with the agents' conduct, Teddy once again requested an attorney.
HIS WIFE GAVE THE AGENTS HIS MEDICATION
AND TOLD THEM HE WAS SICK.
Teddy's wife gave the agents his medication and told them he had just been released from the hospital on strict orders to take the antibiotics.
EVEN AT THE JAIL,
THEY DIDN'T SLOW DOWN.
When they reached South Central Regional Jail, an agent forcibly pulled Teddy from the vehicle by his arm, causing him to land on and bear weight on his injured leg.
Lee ignored him. Teddy was taken inside.
NOTHING ABOUT THIS ARREST
WAS LEGAL OR OK.
Teddy came home on his own.
Before he could explain anything, the FBI showed up, put him in handcuffs, refused to show him the warrant when he asked, entered his home without his permission, took his phone, and took him to jail after he asked for a lawyer.
